

What Is Somatic Coaching?
Somatic coaching is a holistic, body-centered approach that supports healing by working with the nervous system, not just the mind. For many people with complex trauma histories, traditional talk therapy can bring awareness and insight—but still leave patterns of overwhelm, shutdown, or feeling “stuck” in the body.

Somatic coaching recognizes that trauma is not only something we remember; it’s something our bodies learned in order to survive. Long after the threat has passed, the nervous system may remain on high alert, disconnected, or frozen. No amount of logic or self-understanding can fully shift this on its own.
​
In somatic coaching, we slow things down. We listen to the language of your body—sensations, impulses, emotions, breath, and movement—and use them as guides. Rather than pushing for change or catharsis, we focus on building safety, choice, and capacity. Over time, your system learns that it no longer has to stay in survival mode.

My approach to somatic coaching is grounded in compassion, pacing, and deep respect for your lived experience. Many of the people I work with are insightful, self-aware, and have spent years in therapy or personal growth spaces. They’re not looking for “fixing”—they’re looking for relief, embodiment, and a way to feel more at home in themselves.
